Pros

-Catered food on the weekends

Cons

-The managers keep a little "black book" where they write down the date and infraction of any perceived offense about you. -If you are not on the manager's favorites list and/or do not make high volume sales on a daily basis ($4,000+), expect to be fired within the next month. -You are told that no employee gets fired due to low sales volume; which is a lie -Sales associates are hired in mass amounts then quickly terminated if there is not much to exploit from them. -There is no clear sales goals; thus, every sales associate is pushed to make more sales without any sense of achievement. (Think of a dog chasing it's tail). -Managers will pressure you to quit if they feel your usefulness has ran it's course. When this occurs, stop selling and just count your hourly pay while it lasts. -Lunch breaks are only 30 minutes -Being an honest, friendly and compassionate salesperson would not give you enough sales to stay competitive among other coworkers. Lies, misinformation, exaggerations and dirty tricks are needed to squeeze the amount of money from customers to satisfy manager expectations.

Pros

The customers and most of the co-workers are great!

Cons

Extremely high pressure to sell. I have worked commission jobs that didn't have nearly as much pressure as this company puts on their employees. The quality of the merchandise is not that good. Salaries are ridiculously low for the amount of sales that we're expected to make. If I worked anywhere in the commission world, I would make at least three times as much as I do here (the company makes a big to-do about being non-commission. However, their mark up is higher than most furniture stores that I know of). Typical of most corporate jobs, this company doesn't promote on capacity. It promotes on ability to schmooze with management. The best people are often ignored.
