Great working conditions in mostly small regional offices, autonomy, rewarding work helping community development corporations improve poor communities. Amazing network of fantastic colleagues across the country that keeps on giving after leaving the organization. Best benefits I ever had.

Cons

Traditionally hierarchical org structure and a culture that doesn't emphasize promoting learning and change. Effectiveness of offices vary greatly depending on region and program vice presidents. Can only work where the org raises $. Difficult to do truly transformative work.
