Pros

Long View Systems has many pros that you just don't find at other companies: - Culture: fun and engaging work place, strong team work - Benefits: exceptional package. All premiums except long-term disability are paid for by the company - Career growth: Lots of room to grow, depending on the path you choose. Long View is very accomodating and wants to keep its employees happy! Strong Management Team in Calgary

Cons

- Branches are vey different than Head Office - culture needs to be consistent throughout the company - Hiring process can be lengthy but they were up front about it from the get go so I knew what to expect. A lot of other companies make decisions too quickly and hire the wrong people. Long View wants to make the right hire.

Great place to start your IT Career

Pros

Long View has people with great personalities, with fun culture, provides training and mentoring. It's only IT services company I know of that offers Permanent position in Calgary. The senior management team is one to the best I've experieced in my 15 years of IT.

Cons

They don't recognize experience and pay for experieced IT people is in middle lower end in an Oil and Gas town. Advancement is slow if you become too valuable to a specific client. I've been stuck as Senior at client site for several years training all the new hire until they are of level 2 quality. then pushing these individual to other client sites. They make too many promises of advancement when there is a oversupply of middle management. They're mid-management is on the weaker side especially compared to senior management. If you have a very specialize skill (app support or programer) set forget about this company.

Pros

Lots of great talent, culture and fun. Ability to express yourself without repremand. This is all providing you are contributing. No one gets a free ride. Managers are strong and able to operate the helm. Strong vendor relations.

Cons

Needs better accounting engine, emm, can't think of any more. Oh, Edmonton needs to come out of it's bubble.
