Pros

I'm so grateful for the experience I had gained over the years in LA County, most importantly, I'm honored to be part of this great workforce.

Cons

There are no downsides from my experience.

Pros

None really, all shelters have the same issues With employees, management, etc. You have 8 years of raises then need to get promoted or you’re stuck at the position maximum. However they only open positions and promote who and when specifically they want to. Benefits kinda suck, Kaiser or united hmo, united ppo is like 3500 a month which is more than the nonexempt even make. Back stabbing and brown nosing is promoted/ encouraged.

Cons

Management is quid pro quo, and target certain employees. Opportunities are only provided to who they want them to be provided to. Weaponize the policy and procedure to their advantage. Chronically understaffed department wide.
