If you live close to your county office it might counterbalance the low salary. Local feel. Invested employees.

Cons

Low wages. Lack of internal resources. Could use process improvement assessment. Nothing seems confidential. Innovative thinking not welcome.

The pay rate is pretty good for a starter job. Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Front desk employees all get paid well to start.

Cons

The hiring process does take a long time to complete. There is no full time position available, and there are no benefits.

Good benefits, but they are shrinking every year. Start with about 3 weeks vacation a year.

Cons

You'll need that vacation to balance out the stress. All shifts are horribly timed.
