Great place to work but still needs improvement

Pros

Great culture and plenty of opportunities to learn from others. Benefits and pay are pretty standard. Remote friendly although they prefer to have you in office if possible. They have high standards when it comes to doing their part to help the environment and push for social change where there are injustices, which makes me feel great working for them.

Cons

Company still struggles from lack of organization and 'growing pains' from being a startup - however they are actively trying to address this, but it will take time. Career advancement isn't super clear and pay bumps aren't common unless you fight for them (makes it hard for people who don't feel comfortable doing so) or get a promotion. Really tight deadlines which makes it pretty standard to work >40hrs/week.

Not so great

Pros

Remote flexibility when needed, and pay was fine.

Cons

A lot of bureaucracy, there is no chance of new ideas if management. don't like them, everything has to be "the way they are used to" and there is no chance for growth. If you want to make a new idea or document, my manager would tell me it was" too detailed" and "we don't need that much" or "that's not how we do it" so I felt to suppressed on making new ideas or raising my hand on new contributions, as ultimately they were not as they are doing it. They had recent layoffs, after telling us all years that the company was growing, doing great, having new subscribers, and new innovations, and from one day to another, they had these massive layoffs because "the business needs to maintain a float" without any previous flags that the company was not doing good. felt like a mask everything in there while saying "everything as great"
