Pros

The snacks and the office is pretty. Also free merch for babies.

Cons

You are completely replaceable. Management does not encourage a learning environment. One mistake and you're out. Also there is no more room to grow up into positions so where you start in this company, is where you will stay for decades.

Pros

There are a lot of very talented and creative people to work with. Good maternity and paternity leave. Good benefits package minus 401K matching. Remote opportunities for a large amount of the roles and remote work "weeks" for those who do have to be in office. The final product from all teams, in general, is fun and interesting.

Cons

Leadership is deeply emotionally immature and collectively does not align on company vision which causes a lot of friction for the employees below them. The founder is often erratic and impulsive which leads to a lot of added stress on employees. This company is not even relatively people-driven nor cares about cultivating any resemblance of a healthy work culture. Furthermore, the founders are not transparent about health or future of the company. There are no annual bonuses and stocks are useless since the company has not IPO'ed. Lastly, if you are someone who expects to work hard and move up quickly, I️ would suggest not considering this company.

Pros

Lovevery offers great toys for their employees' kids, you get to work with great colleagues and generous parental leave

Cons

Lovevery leadership is hostile. The amount that I don’t like here far outweighs anything I did. Extremely low pay - Lovevery prides itself in paying competitively, which is a lie. In some positions, you can do exactly what you do at Lovevery somewhere else for twice the pay but if you resign they won’t offer to pay you more, yet the pay is competitive in their job listings. If you pay competitively Lovevery, but can’t offer someone more to stay, you cannot compete and that is lying. I’ve never felt such cold, hostile leadership ever before in a job. I was looked down upon and treated like a rigid number in the system. There is absolutely no growth and if you make a mistake you are out. Management isn’t aligned on everything and it leads to confusion and unfairness. Leadership likes to make decisions about the future and once the decision has been made, weeks and weeks later you find out. Lovevery favorites certain employees. Those people will be given opportunities to pursue their careers even more, receive more opportunities in what they do and be constantly highlighted by leadership. No growth whatsoever - There are no opportunities to grow, even after being there multiple years. Leadership doesn't show any interest in investing in opportunities to help employees learn new skills and become even better in their work. They make you do what you have always done and you get what you have always gotten. Because Lovevery is planning to go public, they cut promotions and pay increases. I was embarrassed to be under the leadership that I had. It’s torturous to be led by people who don’t care about your best interest, they ask how can they help you grow and disregard after. You ask multiple times for more growth and more things to learn, or even watch how someone else does the work that you’re interested in doing and the answer constantly is nothing at the moment or simply crickets.

Lovevery Response

We are concerned to hear you had a negative experience while working at Lovevery. We perform exit interviews with employees who voluntarily leave the company, and this information was surprising and disappointing for us to hear. We have historically given pay raises averaging 15% across the company, and our promotion rate has been on average ~20% year over year. We benchmark our pay using competitive tools, and have averaged on the high end of salary bands for most roles. We also rolled out career ladders last year for all departments in order to offer a transparent path to career growth at Lovevery. As mentioned, our team is concerned about your feedback and would appreciate the opportunity to gather any additional details you would be willing to share with us directly at hr.info@lovevery.com. We hold our leaders to a high bar, and take reports of inappropriate conduct very seriously. We would like to look into your situation further if you are open to that.
