Pros

Lowes is a great company, with a high level of integrity, the pay is good for retail, the benefits are good for retail, the opportunities to grow as a person, and on a career stand point are good. Great leadership from the VP's and up.

Cons

not enough associates in the stores to provide the level of customer service expected.

Pros

Lots of room to advance if you work hard and your reasonably intelligent. They have a promotional/educational system set in place where you can apply to their "school" and if accepted you go through a short class to make you ready to become a department manager, zone manager etc.

Cons

Its a little warm being that its basically a warehouse. at the end of the day you feel like taking a shower as soon as you get home. in addition, walking around on the concrete floor isn't the best for you feet.

Pros

There is definitely a team spirit and we all think we are better than home depot in customer service. Depending on what type of personality you have this is a great job; if you are towards the unfriendly side then this job doesn't work since a helpful attitude is expected. Benefits exist at lowe's but they are getting mediocre.

Cons

Slackers are hard to fire with the multiple procedures that have to be gone through. Good people are worked to the bone and are held to sometimes unfair expectations that we don't have for slackers. Depending on what department you are in you can have coverage or not; it depends on your store manager and what departments rate the manpower.
