Pros

The other co-workers and the customers.

Cons

The training could be a lot better. The training modules only cover basic information. The training would be more effective if you trained one-on-one with a head cashier for a couple of days before being turned loose by yourself. Better yet, the Cart tests should be used as a training tool. You learn a lot of useful information from the quarterly test. Unfortunately, you only learn something new from making a mistake and Management is quick to critize you in front of customers.

Pros

Lowe's is the # 2 Big-Box Home Center and actually growing faster than The Depot - so if you can stand the grind then you can stay employed Lowe's used to be a company where if you worked hard , then you could advance in your career and make the company better . this has become an environment where many people who have no experience in the Home Center business have more influence than workers with many years in the business and since no one really knows what should be done , the consensus winds up going in a tangent

Cons

Poor training , - the company is geared toward everyone ' working the company formula ' via the computer -yet the ' computer training' that they offer is an on-line course without the benefit of any decent human teachers so what you wind up with is computer nerds who know very little about the product that they are working with The people in charge of the training are more concerned if your sweater has a collar on it than if their compter training is helping anyone. 2) there are too many bean counter/ consultants looking over your shoulder and telling you what wwent wrong and not enough ' head-count' to get the projects accomlpished

Pros

• Some front-line coworkers are hardworking and decent people. • The employee discount can be helpful for home projects.

Cons

· Systemic Retaliation: I experienced severe retaliation after requesting a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) related to family caregiving. Management's response was not to engage in an interactive process, but to begin a campaign of fabrication to force me out. · Falsification of Records: After I disclosed my need for accommodation, the company, in concert with its third-party HR agent, Thomas & Company, began retroactively falsifying attendance records. I have irrefutable evidence, including a photo of the original schedule and text messages with my supervisor, that disproves the "No Call/No Show" allegations used to justify my termination. · Wrongful Termination: I was wrongfully terminated on August 9, 2024. This was not for performance, but as a direct punishment for asserting my legal rights. An internal HR letter later confirmed my separation was "involuntary," directly contradicting the false "job abandonment" narrative they tried to create. · Post-Termination Harassment: The company continued its retaliation even after I was gone, providing falsified information to the Texas Workforce Commission to actively block my unemployment benefits, causing significant financial harm and housing instability. · A Culture of Fear: Based on my experience, this is not a company that values honesty or its employees. It is an organization where management will manipulate data, break laws, and destroy lives to avoid accommodating a simple request. The "Open Door Policy" is a trap; using it to report issues only paints a target on your back.
