Pros

* Great location right at Alexanderplatz. * Company helps developers obtain Oracle Certifications, including paying for taking exams.

Cons

* Not Invented Here culture is pervasive. The company has written its own database, logging, IO, collection, and event sourcing libraries, meaning you won't be getting many transferrable skills with technology used elsewhere. * Transition from a German company to an "international" company could have gone a lot faster. There was still a distinct feeling that it was a German company with a few international workers, e.g. German being necessary during team lead meetings.

Pros

Extensive 2-week consulting training at the beginning: Employees receive thorough training, ensuring they are well-prepared for their roles. Good place for a first job out of college: Not bad for recent graduates, providing work experience and opportunities to learn. Fun events: The company organizes enjoyable events, fostering a positive and engaging work environment. Good work/life balance: Employees can maintain a healthy balance between their professional and personal lives, promoting overall well-being. Development budget: Employees have access to a budget allocated for their professional development.

Cons

Poor Leadership and Communication: Inconsistent direction and lack of clear strategy communication from leadership cause confusion and frustration among employees. Low Compensation Packages: Salaries fall below industry standards, leading to dissatisfaction and making it difficult to retain skilled professionals. Decline in Company Culture: Since the founders left, the once vibrant company culture has deteriorated, affecting teamwork and morale. Ineffective HR Practices: Frequent leadership terminations due to sudden strategy changes create a negative atmosphere; HR handles these situations poorly, lacking empathy, support and communication. Lack of Employee Recognition: High-performing employees are often overlooked, leading to a lack of motivation and talent retention issues.
