Pros

Good people to work with who genuinely want to create the best work possible. Get to work on one of the biggest brands in the world. Great location.

Cons

Hard to move up. Pay does not keep up with cost of living in Bay Area. Management moves slowly to make any effective changes, if it all.

Pros

If you are interested in learning many new things in a short period of time, then this place is for you. Many cool people doing the day to day work. Can be a fun work environment on the right day.

Cons

Since the purchase by Disney some years ago, Lucasfilm and ILM moral has been on a slow decline with no bottom in sight. I would recommend those who have been there a long time to think about jumping ship soon. The company needs to change quickly to survive.

Wonderful Company Under George's Leadership

Pros

Lucasfilm, under George, was a wonderful company full of innovative minds who all collaborated together to put out the best products. The company culture was familial with everyone working towards the same goals. Campus was beautiful, food was awesome and work/life balance was one to covet.

Cons

There wasn't a lot of opportunity for upward movement because no people rarely left. This speaks to the company culture in a positive way as most remained with the company carrying the title of "Lucas Lifers" but that also meant one could stay in the same position for years and years. Also the company was notorious for paying below market. It was simply a known fact that everyone lived with because they loved working there but in today's Bay Area market, it could make life quite hard.
