Pros

there were no pros whatsoever- i'd give it zero stars if I could **Formerly Bowlero

Cons

fear based leadership- every goal or initiative has OR you're fired attached to the end of it expanding far too quickly for them to actually keep up with running the business well. Every support department was the worst I have seen in my entire career. From HR being WILDLY unprofessional, the AP team not being able to pay a single bill on time and being on hold with almost every vendor, IT could never really fix any problems, had any answers, and were insanely rude, Payroll never paid employees properly. Including me by not having my final check in hand totally illegal & unprofessional then had to wait 3 days to get paid because it was a holiday! they tried to "pay me in cash" instead of giving me a final check. SKETCHY STAY AWAY! Worked 6 days every week and was expected to respond even on the 1 day off I had. No work life balance Micromanagement is an understatement Lev the COO of the company has no idea what he is doing and surrounds himself with Yes men instead of people that actually have real ideas and the entire upper leadership team follows suit. Promotions are done politically regardless of their core mission statement saying they "reward ambitious, driven, employees".

Pros

- Meet lots of people which is nice - DM is a great boss and understanding - Fellow area managers are awesome. Making new contacts has been a huge plus - Bowling discount which my family absolutely loves

Cons

- Pay for hourly isn't great due to keeping labor costs down - Hard to be a fun place to work when stressed out due to low staffing and filling hourly roles - computer systems are extremely outdated. Programs don't talk to each other meaning you are left doing all the leg work at the end of the night to connect dots

Beyond behind the times

Pros

They paid me well, my district manager was great, it was a beyond easy job.

Cons

There is no 401k and no bonuses, health insurance is awful. Labor model makes it so managers are having to do all cleaning and constantly fill hourly rolls, the expected labor % is beyond low compared to anywhere else in the industry. Servers and bartenders are auto-grated and make more money than any managers so manager retention was tough. There is no tip out and bartenders cannot split tips so getting everyone to work as a team was tough. None of their systems talk to each other and they use no basic restaurant management technology platforms so basic things like scheduling, logging issues and inventory take 10 times longer than they should. HR only works Monday-Friday 9-5 and does not allow managers to write people up, term etc without their approval but it takes days-weeks for them to respond. HR rarely supports ops in decisions and goes off of labor laws from California. PTO exists but you’re never permitted to take it and when you do you still are expected to work. Nobody is allowed to take any time off November-February. New Year’s Eve is absolute chaos every year the design is impossible to execute and every GM works 16+ hours that day. Not a lot of room for growth beyond GM unless you’re a white good old boy with no true industry experience.
