      Pros

      Company has good benefits which it is trying to take away.

      Cons

      The Corporation is anti-union, micro manages, management is afraid of talented employees, thus promotes unqualified people to management, Century Link also fires employees for little reason and frequently, sets metric numbers at unreasonable levels which causes poor customer service by stressed out employees. This corporation is also anti-union and can't settle union contracts in a timely manner. The bottom line is all about numbers and little about employee satisfaction.

      better than not having a paycheck

      Upper management completely out of touch; can't live on a Monroe salary anywhere else in the country. Values are a joke as not everyone in the universe is a Christian. Top heavy management at Savvis - everyone is an SVP or VP; they are very defensive of this as about 1 in 20 are actually qualified - silly frat boys. They are arrogent now but will be jacked over just like Embarq and Qwest employees All competent, respectable Qwest managment took the money and ran last spring.

      Pros

      Good pay and decent benefits. If you have high technology skills and can get in the right place you may do OK.

      Cons

      Starting about three years ago when we were still Qwest....management hasn't seemed to care about the workers at all. It's only gotten worse since CenturyLink took over. Endless hours day and night, lack of equipment to do the job, and little work/life balance. Micromanagement like you wouldn't believe.
