Pros

Good introduction into other technologies (outside of telecom) so you can leave sooner.

Cons

Telecom is already a grind, CTL makes it worse. The new Level3 culture is toxic. Where did all the former CenturyLink people go? Did they leave, were they pushed out, or both?

Pros

They gave a paycheck I guess.

Cons

Ran a skeleton crew in a 24x7 center that supported everything from a mom and pop shop to 911. You had 2 days of training on complicated technology and then were expected to troubleshoot. Management runs the place like they are in the military. Be ready to be treated like garbage

Pros

Managers and lower are great people. Directors and above don’t care about the employees.

Cons

Too top heavy and it’s the good old boys club. Not what you know but who you know. No raises anymore. I left because I would not make someone lose their bonus to meet a made up number. Fix management so that you can rate on what a person does not what you need to make them to get your bonus .

CenturyLink embraces a “Pay for Performance” culture and gives managers and business units the autonomy and ownership to make compensation decisions (raises, promotions etc.) for their teams. We value all our employees regardless of their level or position.
