The benefits package was at least decent Their core network (at least the Level3 backbone) is well engineered.

Cons

-Low salary for the market -Old building with no amenities -Everyone in telecom has a preconceived notion of Lumen, most of them negative -Customer billing is a mess -Still have not combined Level 3, Global Crossing, Qwest, CenturyLink, Time Warner Telecom networks in a way that makes sense -Management is very old school

- Talented and collaborative colleagues who genuinely care about doing good work. - Opportunities to work on large-scale, high-impact systems in telecom and networking. - Great management - Remote work flexibility and good work-life balance in most teams. - Room to influence technical direction if you take initiative.

Cons

- Organizational silos create friction and slow down delivery. - Communication gaps between different teams and delivery teams can leave priorities unclear. - Legacy systems and processes can be slow to change, even when problems are well known. - Tools and documentation often scattered, requiring extra effort to locate source of truth.
