Pros

Everyone is tackling a huge challenge and super customer focused. Lots of mental flexibility and happy customers giving references. Hard working people mission focused on doing the right thing.

Cons

Culture is an ongoing discussion, but evolving with the company. Communication is improving and processes are shaping up but yet to coalesce across departments.

Pros

Great atmosphere, motivated and intelligent coworkers, tons of opportunity to learn and grow, engineering and product work very closely with operations team, management genuinely cares about the well-being of employees. Culture and people are a priority at the company, and it really shows. Employees are cheerful and engaged at work, despite the fact that the core tasks around payroll and benefits do not always seem sexy (though they are much more fun and interesting than they seem on the surface). The company vision is to demystify benefits for employees and help them make right choices which is very motivating for those who are looking for a fulfilling job at a tech company. Lumity emphasizes doing the right thing, which is reflecting in how the company has been built - prioritizing the customer experience and creating a simple and delightful product. As the company grows, there are new teams and roles opening up, which is great for career development.

Cons

To be successful you'll have to work tough hours, not that management dictates these hours in any way, but just naturally from how smart, motivated, and diligent folks are, keeping up and being a leader for others means really pushing yourself.

Pros

+ Leadership clearly has experience, knows what they're doing and communicates with the entire company. I am impressed with the level of transparency and the information that's given during company all-hands meetings. We know our goals and the steps we're going to take to get there. + Each department feels like family - especially the operations team I worked for. + Office is pretty sweet. This was YouTube's first office - lots of character. In the middle of San Mateo downtown - lots of cool restaurants and bars. Quick walk to CalTrain. + Most amazing thing about this job is the personal growth I achieved. I never thought I could take on so much and get it all done. Lumity never restricted me unlike all other employers I worked for. + Worked directly for the COO/Cofounder who was amazing in coaching and developing me. He told me what he will do for me when I got hired and did exactly that and more during my time at Lumity. Coming from traditional old school brokerage, I really realized how much more I could accomplish in a nurturing environment. It was a lot of hard work but it developed me into who I am today. + I have worked at 3 employers before but this was the first time I was in tears on my last day. Had to leave because of personal situation. Everyone here feels like family. I go back to visit them often.

Cons

None that I can think of now.
