Pros

Nice 50% discount off the products! I've worked in two Lush stores and one was a lot more chilled than the other which was nice.

Cons

Complete favouritism from management that they don't even try to hide. I was made to pounce on customers as soon as they walked in the door- even the ones that clearly didn't want to be approached which felt extremely awkward. If they said "I'm just looking", which is usually code for "I just want to shop in peace", then we were told to keep upselling anyhow.

Pros

None I can think of

Cons

- One of the most toxic workplaces I ever worked at - Salary was extremely low and miserable $7/hr - Staff expected to help unload and unpack at warehouse at odd hours like 10pm- midnight - Very limited toilet and food breaks, nearest toilet was infested with cockroaches - No place to sit, forced to stand for hours on end - Forced to carry heavy barrels of water - Boss stopped giving me work without reason, after I quit, the boss defamed me and told everyone that I didn't attend to a secret shopper as I was busy attending to a customer (totally made up story from my perspective and was never once communicated to me directly by management, showing how untrue this was) - A lot of negative energy and hatred towards competitors like The Body Shop - Colleagues very clique-ish and some are like bullies - No recognition/rewards despite pulling in top sales

Not worth it

Pros

Good discount 2 freebies a month

Cons

You're expected to do a lot of work for London Living Wage. You're expected to be a massage therapist, a children's party host, a sales assistant and a skincare consultant all in one. Aside from the two freebies you get each month, you'll mainly get damaged goods such as bath bombs that have been dropped on the floor and so aren't hygienic. Not enough time to clean the store properly.
