      Good pay and benefits - hard on workers

      Pros

      The pay and benefits are good, some flexibility on work hours. New CEO so maybe there will be better times ahead.

      Cons

      Lots of hard work and pushing the limits of peoples abilities. No work life balance, leaving early is discouraged. Company is not impressed unless you are driven and put the company above all.

      They've increased pay, but the culture and morale is still negative

      Pros

      Pay has been increased to a very high level. Benefits are at a level with the rest fo the market.

      Cons

      Org chart is way too flat. There are minimal opportunities for E4 and E5 engineers to move up. Myself and my peers feel that we have jobs and not careers. There is minimal bench strength for most technical/management positions.

      Pros

      LyondellBasell offers good benefits and has a solid reputation in the industry.

      Cons

      LyondellBasell does not have a positive work environment. Managers over scrutinize employees' performance in order to facilitate forced ranking. There are very few opportunities for growth, instead people are shifted to jobs laterally. Managers are scared to make decisions and stand behind them.
