Pros

Pay is good, benefits are okay (not great)

Cons

They should start the university of micro managing. Moral took a major blow in the past 12 months after making progress from an all time low. A lot of employees are looking for other opportunities. Benefits and pay are good, but not as good as other companies. The team atmosphere has diminished.

Pros

Pretty good place to work and we actually work hard and make stuff. If that is how you choose to earn your living. If not then please go somewhere else to obtain your bread. A lot of good people who work hard every day. Sometimes you can get lost in the shuffle but believe me each of us counts. Because we don`t carry extra staffing. We work hard to be good environmental neighbors and keep each of us and our contract friends safe. A lot of smart, hardworking people and good benefits make LyondellBasell (at least in North America) a good manufacturing company to work for.

Cons

Middle management gets pretty goofy sometimes but I think this is pretty much true of any manufacturer so don`t blame us for the worlds problems. Don`t know about upper tier but 'the apple doesn`t fall far from the tree' right?

Pros

Starting compensation and bonus structure is competitive. Lack of performance culture makes it a great place to work for low-performers. Record profits and inability to retain talent provides plenty of job security.

Cons

Inadequate organizational planning combined with unneccesary mindless repetitive tasks due to poor process and system design leads to burnout and consistent turnover at lower levels. The top management has been sourced from competitors and are mostly reasonable and competent, but the middle management that remained in place following the bankrupcy is consumed by departmental and legacy company politics. Quality college graduates quickly resign due to frustrating work environment leaving mostly low-performers as peers.
