Pros

Great place to meet people

Cons

Defamation and inflammation is the name of the game on the experience design team. The arrogance and entitlement of the CXO is what crippled and will continue to cripple the company culture. Everyone walks on eggshells in hopes of not triggering his next tantrum, where he curses everyone and hunts out the ones who challenge and are in direct opposition to him. The great irony of ironies is this individual is responsible for the output of human experience in the hospitality setting, yet his disdain for people from all walks of life is precisely why this company is limited in it's vision for what the brand even means or stands for. Myopic vision, lack of empathy, inability to elevate people makes this a terrible environment for growth. If you are someone who wants to learn, don't join this company. You'll pick up bad habits, learn how to stab people in the back, talk smack and end up a depressed shill like the CXO.

Pros

There are some great people at Lyric

Cons

Previous reviews on culture ring true. The people who have moved up in the company into leadership roles are the type that lie, manipulate, and are generally not trustworthy. If you’re lucky enough to be on certain teams (brand), you might be okay provided you’re a good little drone. If you disagree with anything even in the face of facts, you won’t be there long. Andrew the CEO, means well, but has surrounded himself by terrible leaders (using the term leader here is an insult to actual leaders) and unfortunately he listens to them. There has been extremely limited growth for over a year and the few things that have been done aren’t remotely profitable and won’t be. Lyric has been firing people like crazy for the last 6 months quite randomly and while some have been warranted, most were not. Lyric is kind of like if WeWork, Uber, and Theranos had a baby.

Lyric Response

There are a couple of pieces of feedback I’d like to address here. First, I’m disappointed that you feel Lyric’s culture was not a positive experience for you. Of the many ways I’d hope teammates & our guests would describe Lyric, these are never the words I’d hope anyone would express. I truly wish you’d had a different experience working with our team, as I believe deeply in the people we work with and want to set each of our employees up for success at Lyric and beyond. Second, with regards to your comments on company leadership, I want to acknowledge that I, and other leaders, should always be striving to improve, to take care of their team, and to build a healthy environment. While that’s not easy, it is my expectation of all leaders, including myself. Again, I’m disappointed we did not deliver for you. I wish you luck in your next endeavor, and I sincerely wish you & I had found time to speak more about any challenges you were facing while you were part of the Lyric team. Best, Andrew
