Pros

Potential to learn about the semiconductor industry and all the different branches of a company and how they function as many employees had to wear multiple hats that bled into other departments. Corporate experience. There are some very nice people that will guide you and help you along the way.

Cons

Top earners in the company (majority, not all) are stagnant. They aren’t eager to teach younger employees the methods and ways that helped them climb up the corporate ladder and instead try to keep you at a low paying position while the big boys rake in their pretty bonuses while the smaller employees do the heavy lifting. It’s not always a healthy work environment, there are grumpy people that will belittle you and in some instances, literally call you stupid. There are also really nice and considerate people that want you to succeed. You’re also expected to sit in your cube all day which wreaks havoc on your body so beware of that as well. Semiconductors are a cyclical business; there’s lots of ups and downs. Lots of employees wear multiple hats and perform tasks that bleed into other departments which is fine; the downside to this is that there are people that will simply refuse to do their task(s) and say it’s not their job.
