Needs to work on truly being an Employer of Choice

Pros

Most managers allow for flexible hours and remote work.

Cons

This company continues to grow by acquiring companies and gaining work however doesn't maintain a substantial support staff on overhead. They will preach about how well they are doing in the market however still reduce headcount for indirect staff to assist with hitting the numbers for stockholders due to not projecting realistic and obtainable goals. Good, hard working employees are overworked, burned out or laid off due to this poor planning . Over the past 10 years, I have seen this company struggle and come back out of a rough economy but a common practice is to do more with less and to not have appropriate level of support available. There is no such thing as job security at this company, to include individuals who excel and are recognized for good work during performance evaluations.

Pros

ManTech is really good at parts of management doing some wonderful and innovative things like bonus awards for documenting technical achievements (unfortunately in a very limited fashion). ManTech HR is supportive, and PMO is rife with talent.

Cons

Major gaps exist where there is a competency skills gap. ManTech selects certain people who have no business in the aspect of the business that they are in with disastrous results. People who are brilliant may be laid off or fired while imbeciles may be promoted to the detriment of all. There was a major layoff of middle management recently that appeared to have been bungled as the layoffs were random and without actual management. It appeared to have been a bean counter decision who was cut.

Benefits, Hours, Project, Travel, and Holidays

Cons

Project Managers Pay/raise (chump change) NO TRAINING - given outdated manuals to read No room for growth - watched people easily moved from project to project w/ease if you're part of the good old boy system Stagnant duties Education reimbursement/lack thereof No loyalty
