Culture change needed.

Pros

In US you will be a project manager no matter what position you are hired for.

Cons

You will not have the pay of a project manager. You will be illegally over allocated and ridiculously under paid. There is almost no diversity as the majority of employees are on Visa. They will actively fight against any career growth opportunities that occur outside the company. The culture needs to change. My advice, take the job if it is a last resort find something positive to get you through the slog, but never stop looking and don't give up the hope of escape. It gets better.

Pros

I have been at MAQ Software since 2003, meaning I have witnessed the growth and progress this company has made over the years. I know everyone talks about the teamwork here, but it really is the defining characteristic of what makes MAQ so special. The passion and dedication everyone has for this work is really incredible, and it's shown in each and every project we complete.

Cons

No company is perfect, and we've of course had a few glitches along the way, both financial and employee related. But the resilience of the people at MAQ, especially Mr. Agarwal, had always kept us on our feet and ready for the next challenge.

Pros

- coworkers are super friendly and helpful (especially if you are early in your career, there are a lot of new graduates that support each other's onboarding) - opportunity to work with large companies that are leaders in the tech industry - gain experience in agile methodology and navigating client dealings

Cons

- if you are expecting to work as a developer in the Redmond office, you will likely be filling the role of a project manager instead - management is VERY busy and has little time to give support/guidance to their new staff - work-life balance can be very difficult, for the following reasons: * night meetings are required Sunday through Thursday, in addition to being in office 9-5 * there is the potential to regularly get urgent requests from clients outside of normal work hours (though this can depend on the project) * many staff members are assigned to additional projects that they lack the additional capacity for - very high turnover rate for new graduates - no allowance for work from home, in almost any case - training platform is nigh-unusable. Many courses have incorrect or outdated answers, and do not provide feedback for missed questions
