Pros

The work is truly cutting edge. You get to focus on research and sometime you actually get to focus on the engineering aspects. Unrivaled density of smart people working on challenging problems across many problem domains. Academic resources; it's MIT after all.

Cons

Pay. Although they claim that pay is to market, that is the one big lie. No bonuses, no stock. Attrition is a big problem, particularly in Cyber. Accountability is often lacking.

Lincoln Laboratory's focus on research for significant, cutting edge issues is one of the prime aspects of working here. As a not for profit organization, we have some strictures that are not found at commercial ventures but overall, Lincoln Laboratory employees enjoy a total compensation that is on par with most other options. We continue to monitor and adapt compensation programs to enable a competitive structure. Often, the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects is the driving motivator for our employees. Thank you for your comments.

Pros

some interesting projects, hours are good (I don't work that much), everyone gets an office (shared with one or two other people), 401(k) match (5%)

Cons

bad pay, you'll have no impact without a PhD, not a meritocracy, cafeteria is bad and expensive, health care is expensive, benefits are overrated

Plans to update the Lincoln Laboratory facilities have been approved by the numerous stakeholders and are underway. This is a major project that will take a number of years and will result in buildings that are better equipped to meet the current and future needs of the organization.

Pros

The work culture is excellent! It's a very good place to work at. They value quality of life of all employees, and very genuine and fair in all aspects. They also provide a lot of flexibility, wherever feasible.

Cons

It can sometimes feel too big of an organization that one may feel lost in it. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it may not be constructive for everyone.
