Pros

Great culture and benefits.

Cons

My particular department did not offer much internal growth. However, this does not characterize the Institute as a whole.

Generally great, although uneven

Pros

Terrific benefits, a lot of really good people, always something fascinating going on, totally non-ageist, lots to do on campus.

Cons

The independence of the various schools, departments, and labs means some are terrific places to work, others not so great. Much depends on the leadership and the leadership has very little accountability. Also, staff may not be provided the same level of respect offered to faculty and students. Pressure levels can be great - there's an assumption in some areas that you're available seven days a week.

Pros

Benefits, Free T Pass, unlimited sick time (although don't try to use it), 401k Match, Pension, Medical

Cons

People, Environment, HR, Culture. Young staff that do not know how to handle working with others in an office. Lots of crying to HR (literally). The office frowns on chain of command and encourages people to treat each other on the same level (so much for years of work experience - not needed or appreciated here). Extremely liberal viewpoints exercised in hiring, day to day operations, emails and culture. Protection of snowflakes is a priority, Would not recommend this office to my worst enemy. Stay clear!!
