Pros

MIT has treated me very well as a student who is seeking to make extra money while studying. The UROP program is a very simple way to take part in top notch research while making a per hour salary

Cons

It is difficult to conduct meaningful research as a Freshman. Many professors see Freshman as immature in their fields of interest and do not trust them with some of the responsibility to work in their labs.
