Pros

MIT has some of the world's best, and most people are extremely self motivated.

Cons

Facilities can be old and a little confusing, but if you know the right people and are associated with enough departments, you can probably find whatever you need. There's definitely a workaholic atmosphere, but I'm not sure any top tier academic institution is going to be any different.

Pros

MIT has a lot of money and funding is easy. There are many world-class educators and lots of opportunities to learn

Cons

It seems like a lot of people hear only work. As in, work and research is their entire life. I'm not one of those people so it's difficult to keep up.
