Pros

Wonderful work-life balance. I was allowed to work from home as needed, the vacation schedule is very generous. Not much overtime expected. A lot of freedom in getting the job done - a great place for independently-minded workers. MIT is a fun place! The staff gets to participate in many of the events and extra-curricular activities for students such as the sailing club, MIT fitness center, etc. Food trucks. Enough said.

Cons

In most academic support roles there is no clear career path. This makes it tricky to progress in a career if you're in administration.

always challenging with a collaborative environment, smart people with a variety of backgrounds and from many different cultures. great funding and full of innovation and support for new ideas

Cons

a little too theoretical, sometimes not well "hooked" into industry and the world of business.
