Pros

Amazing intellectual environment with access to plenty of resources and community

Cons

winning a fellowship at MIT makes you lose the privileges of employee, included the retirement plan. Also, despite they increased the postdoctoral salaries, they are still below the Boston area average and median.

Pros

Health benefit options are fantastic, if expensive; many inspired people who are engaged with the larger world; some interesting work is available if you can get your manager to support your own professional interests and desired work-path

Cons

Hours can be long; inflexible on remote work and very "traditionalist" in many ways despite being on the cutting edge of technology; pay is average, as is vacation time, etc. They are one of the few universities in the area that does not give their staff winter break (week between Christmas and New Year's) off with pay.
