RTO handled poorly

Pros

Excellent coworkers; interesting technical work

Cons

Matrixed organization means you cannot be both a people leader and technical leader; strict enforcement of 'back to office' while not having enough space for those returning to office (and actively reducing/closing site spaces without consulting those affected), reducing benefits for longer-time employees. Very thinly-veiled attempt to get people to leave.

Pros

The division I work in is awesome! The department manager, SEGL, and team are the best.

Cons

Management at the top of the food chain do not care about the employees that keep the company running. They continue to take benefits from its employees with an attitude of it’s all good. Meanwhile they’re earning $400k+. And now they have return to office policy that is harsh, ex. you’re required to show up 50% during a period for hybrid employees and 80% for residents. The worst part, if you don’t badge in at those percentages you will be fired.
