      Good work/home balance Managers are understanding of family obligations Interesting project if you can find them A good mix of interesting people to work with

      Very political environment Often difficult to get promoted Raise quality vary between departments

      Good flexibility

      Pros

      Good place to have work life balance. Reasonable pay, good benefits to include some paid time to do volunteer work. Never felt like I was too overworked. Also lots of ability to create your own projects

      Cons

      Quasi academic in the culture. Lots of alignment with the government so if that drives you crazy might not be such a great choice.

Many of MITRE’s employees regularly participate in and present at conferences in their industry.
