Horrible management if you are an affiliate. Basically you’re an expendable worker who works with civil service protected workers. MPHI will not back you up and will leave you hung out to dry with everything from pay raises to state workers laying their work on you. If you need a job it’s not the worst, but either transfer to the state or find something better.

Little analytical expertise, poor mentorship, a bit of a one-size-fits-all approach to skill development, unimpressive department leadership, politics akin to a small rural town. If you have to work there, do it for a short time, and move onto something better. Notwithstanding discouragement, targeted sabotage, and frequently being patronized by people that now make much less money than I do now, I eventually got through it and have since had a successful career. However, had I known what I do now, I would have taken a different path.
