Pros

-job security (you can give minimal effort and no one will call you out on it) -basic 9-5 hours (periodically longer/shorter days) -presence counts for more than effort

Cons

-horrible management for development program -the manager is more concerned about retention than growth -favorites based on who completes ad-hoc tasks that are often busy work or meant for the manager to complete -compensation/bonus is same across the program, regardless of reviews/effort -effectively discourages hard work/ambition -limited vertical mobility (unless you suck up to senior management) -senior people will be hired with no knowledge of processes or even how to use excel!! junior PMs end up doing the senior PMs work. -legacy/connections matter more than ability (hurts bank in the long run) -referral hires coast through with impunity -transformation program has yielded negative ROI -3 month training that teaches you nothing about internal processes

Pros

-Great position for those new to the work place and looking to earn corporate experience, as well as, for those who just need a job to pay the bills without bringing home too much stress. -There are some great people here to work with, unfortunately, most want to leave after a few months. -Decent Salary (Above Industry Average). -Decent Healthcare and 401k Package.

Cons

-This is NOT a position that you can expect to turn into a career. -Salaries are rarely marginally increased and bonuses are almost unheard of. -Management is either slow or incapable of addressing issues with: processes, legacy employees, and outdated systems that frequently fail resulting in other problems. -Unfortunately, there're a lot of inter-office politics that determine one's future at this company - Valuing who you know or are friends with in management rather than: skills, experience, and overall value. -Training and onboarding for this position could drastically be improved. There're no formal training programs or continuing training programs offered.

Pros

Pay was in line with finance average. Company has big dreams and, theoretically, capital to experiment with.

Cons

After years of neglect, the average skill level of the bureaucrats required to get anything done is very low. Simple questions - resetting a password, buying office equipment, signing contracts, getting a server, installing software - requires micromanaging process owners through their own complex approval workflows. Big, transformational efforts flush millions and hours down the drain in the name of risk avoidance.
