Pros

The best reasons to work at Macy's are the discounts and the access to the numerous sales that happen throughout the year. There are many different discounts given throughout the year to friends and family members, too. The work is pretty laid back, too. You could chose to slack here and barely anyone will notice.

Cons

Retail hours require weekend work so expect to work at least one weekend day every week. There are really no other downsides. The break rooms need some updating though. Every Macy's break room I've ever been in is in shabby place and is not an inviting place to relax. Luckily most Macy's are connected to a mall so go relax somewhere else.

Pros

Large company with very nice assortment of apparel at reasonable prices. Strong nationally reckognized store brand name.

Cons

Due to aquisition and leader changes, some stores have not perfected their management style so some things are better and some worse. Given more time it will work out.
