Nice environment, but horrible work experience

Pros

You get to work in a nice retail environment where it's clean and organized, as well as a good employee discount on store merchandise.

Cons

I had applied for part-time employment, clearing stating which days and hours I could work. They kept scheduling me outside of these hours and crazy amount of hours too.

Pros

The company is very large and there the discounts that we receive are nice. Also, there are a lot of brands so mobility is an option.

Cons

The culture is very immature and unprofessional at times. The director's and managers are not competent in most cases which makes work stressful.

Pros

20% discount. Vacation and benefits are pretty good. Macy's likes to promote within and there are a lot of opportunities to move up. Daily recognitions for associates providing outstanding customer service.

Cons

not enough associate working on support team means that as manager you have to work ridiculous hours to get the job done. Never enough sales staff on floor. Merchandise Team manager is one of the hardest job in company and I've even heard district people tell me that. Communication from corportate to stores could be better
