Pros

Schedule, school hours Federal holidays off Non clinical work

Cons

Poor leadership Micro management due to poor leadership No advocacy for the actual profession Despite making millions with this government pay, competitive wages and raises are non existent unless in reward for areas who didn’t unionize As a government contractor there is little to no negotiation or advocacy when there are requests that are not sustainable or appropriate for the position and role leading to severe confusion in responsibilities. There seems to be little development in leadership to shape them into effective leaders. Behavior that toed the line of full on union busting

Pros

Assisting our Active Military and Families through several areas of need and Concern. Placement can be in the schools assisting students and teachers in identifying educational, behavioral and emotional needs, major focus on several parent deployments, and moves every few years to different military bases within US and overseas. Placement also exists within each unit brigade associating closely with military administration addressing and counseling active military before leaving on deployment , family and economic concerns while deployed, address domestic violence, and suicidal issues. Always busy, meet at a designated office or on sight of work environment. High self-gratification and highly welcomed by Colonel and Lt. Colonel.

Cons

Varied hours, some weekends to meet returns from deployment and family re-engagement at times difficulties with military associating with norms va military requirements. Time of employment need in 2020, not 2021. I took a leave for surgery on both of my feet Covid virus resulted in my not returning to work. With contract changes I was unable to re-apply for a position, which is my only regret.
