Pros

Great pay! A BS in Education, 5 years experience and TESOL or ESL certificate will give you a starting pay of $24/hour Magic Ears staff is refreshingly supportive! The response time and communication are top-notch and very professional. They go out of their way to ensure the success of their teachers. The platform, 1 teacher/1-4 students is awesome! Classes are fast-paced and interactive. They encourage a fun, energetic teaching personality and I feel free to be my goofy self : ) The teaching slides are well designed, with instructions being clear and large enough to read easily They do a great job of helping you gradually adjust to their teaching platform by starting you out slowly. Your first 10 classes are monitered, with feedback being given from Magic Ears on the first 3. I love this because it helps me know how to improve, thus allowing me to receive great feedback from parents.

Cons

The only thing I can think of is for the hours to increase, but that's in the works : )

Pros

I've worked with Magic Ears since the very beginning! I'm not only a teacher but also a trainer and interviewer for the company. Great pay! They really care about their teachers and go to great lengths to ensure their success! Great staff and lot's of fun to work with!

Cons

Available teaching hours are a bit limited, but the secondary positions can really help with this. We are all growing together!

Pros

I have been working with Magic Ears for a few months and I had been working with other companies as well. Magic Ears is so innovative and family-like compared to all the other companies! You feel valued and part of a supportive community. The company is constantly bettering the teaching platform based on the teachers' feedback. For example, one lesson was extremely long and I did not finish it (which results in penalities) but after my feedback to the company, they cut down the number of slides! I love the platform, it is very easy to use, interactive and fun. The teachers do not get penalized for sick days or emergencies. The pay is great with the bonuses for entering class early and opening 60+ slots a month. I love that there is room to grow in the company too. I quit all of my other online teaching jobs because I love love love Magic Ears and want to put in all of my effort into bettering my teaching, ranking up and growing with the company! I would definitely recommend it to other teachers. It has been a great experience thus far.

Cons

The biggest downside, in my opinion, is the rankings and how it affects bookings. You enter the company as a Freshman and open up to 10 slots a week (which is good that you start slow and get instant feedback from the team to improve your teaching style because it takes time to adapt to the style) then you can move up to Junior. I have about 12-15 classes a week, but I would love to have more. I hope to move up as a senior teacher in order to have more bookings, but moving up is based on parent feedback and team evaluations. So I hope that a past error/technical issues will not hinder me from moving up in the company now that all of my problems have been fixed! Also, I hope that there are more available hours in the future. They are working on it :)
