Pros

Alex, Ben, and Lap (our leadership team) truly care about the welfare of their employees and regularly roll out new initiatives and perks to improve our benefits packages. Magnopus is growing very quickly and they are focused on making thoughtful decisions as we evolve into a larger company. Culture is a huge selling point as Magnopus is full of highly talented individuals who also happen to be great people. Fun clubs at lunch! Overall great work/life balance (some crunch time close to deadlines, but nothing excessive). Plus, we're working on amazing projects!

Cons

Would be nice to have additional choices for health insurance. The onsite parking situation can be pretty hectic (though it is paid for by the company and you're guaranteed a parking spot). DTLA commute is a pain, but the company will pay for your Metro pass to take the train or bus if you'd rather not drive.

Thanks for your feedback! We're happy to hear that that you're happy. Regarding Health Insurance, we're always fighting to get the best benefits for employees and yet keep it simple to navigate. We're aiming for some benefits this year that will be improved, and if there's specific health insurance concerns or requests you're looking for, please always talk to our friends in HR to let us know so we can make adjustments. Same with Parking. We've tested other parking solutions and found them to be "sub-optimal." We're very supportive of alternative transportation plans and often work with employees at the individual level to reduce the suck. Thanks for the advice on new management positions! We've made sure that we talk to all our candidates for these positions, and let them know how important it is that they protect and grow the culture that we've all built here. So far I think all our hires are as committed to it as we are.

Pros

Talented team mates, great projects, and wonderful culture.

Cons

It absolutely breaks my heart that we work in a dog-friendly building but we are not a dog friendly company. I miss having my dog at work.

We're so glad you're enjoying being a part of Magnopus! :). We're sad that you're sad about not bringing your furry friend to the office. In fact, the founders have puppies too, so it's not for lack of love and respect for our four-footed friends. We're sensitive that we need to offer a workplace that's conducive to everyone that works here. We've gotten feedback that some people aren't comfortable with animals, or are allergic to them, or feel their presence in the workplace can be disruptive. Certainly this isn't applicable to EVERYONE'S pets, but wanting to accommodate those feelings led us to a compromise. On projects that aren't Top Secret, members of the team here take regular "work from home" days where they can be productive with their companions in the comfort of their homes. Perhaps this can help?

We hear you loud and clear on Parking and Health Insurance. We've been working on improving these every year since we began and they're tough things to tackle. But rest assured, we never just hit the "easy button" on them, and we spend weeks pouring over each years changes and tweaking the system to the employees advantage every time. If there's specific feedback you can give us, it might help us focus on what's important to you. And as far as supervisors, we agree. We're going through a growth period where we want to make sure we're doing exactly that for every team to make sure everyone has a role model and mentor that will help their career grow.
