Pros
The teams are highly collaborative, we work really hard to avoid the "Silo Effect". The challenges I have had the privilege to work on are fascinating and never ending, so the work is never repetitive or boring, and I continue to learn constantly. The unique culture of the company is fun, relaxed, and supportive. And the management team is very caring about the individual, not just the product. And despite our rapid growth, it is still possible to develop one's career and be promoted within the company.
Cons
The rapid growth of the company and the movement from a start-up atmosphere to a much larger business has decreased employee autonomy. On the development side, the lack of strict process surrounding every detail of development can be a turn-off to anyone who is not used to it or who cannot thrive without it. We have adopted several techniques from various strategies and have implemented them lightly in a way that keeps each of our teams flowing effectively and quickly. But it is likely not to everyone's taste.
