Pros

From the moment that I first put in an applications and interacted with the recruiter that hired me, I knew this was going to be a good thing. They asked questions that were relevant to my previous experiences and related to why I had applied to my particular roll at Mailgun. The interview process was painless and it was easy to see that we would be a good fit for each other not just one way or another, and I could see that from when I put in my application to the day I started. Once in the door, the job has been something that I can't wait to tell my friends and family about. I love recommending Mailgun as a place to work to friends that I know in similar industries or have potential to work with technology. Mailgun also has a great mix of individuals who help drive each other's success, not always just looking out for themselves. Mailgun is still growing as a business and that provides a lot of opportunities to help shape what the future of the company can be and potential role changes to what the company will need in the future.

Cons

With the growth there is change that happens quickly and sometimes often. So you have to be able to keep up with the changes and be ok with change. Growth also tends to come with having to work hard and have extended hours on occasion, although that is not normally very stressful.

Pros

...the best decisions I could have made when I started looking for a new role. When I started looking for a new job, I honestly was not familiar with Mailgun or what they did. I was searching for jobs at larger companies with bigger reputations and brands that were more easily recognizable. However, I began to be sold on Mailgun the more I talked with a friend and former co-worker who started to work at Mailgun only a few months prior to me. She let me know that although she had a ton of work (more on that later) it was the people, the culture and the benefits that really had her buying into Mailgun. Once she explained what she meant I was sold and applied for the second recruiter opening. I was lucky enough to end up getting the role and now that I have been here for 8 months I can honestly agree that what she told me about the people, the culture, and the benefits are true. In my opinion, those are the biggest three pros about Mailgun. The people you will work with here are all very smart, funny, hard-working, and just downright good folks. I was able to come in knowing one person but I was easily able to connect with not just my immediate team but people from all over the company that I can truly call friends now rather than just co-workers. The culture here is very casual but hard working. You can come to work in a button-down shirt and slacks or shorts and flip-flops. The benefits are very competitive and the PTO you get when you start is awesome. Mailgun pays 100% of employee insurance premiums. Did I mention the flexible work from home ability on top of that? This company really does a lot to try and make sure their employees are working hard but not burnt out.

Cons

No matter the job you get you will have a lot of work to do. We are still a small and growing IT company so its all hands on deck. You also absolutely have to be someone who can be a self-starter and self-teacher. While we are working on implementing better on-boarding measures you will more than likely be thrown into the deep end of your role once you get here.
