Pros

There are no pros working at blur. You will not learn ANYTHING here and it was a COMPLETE waste of time. The job advertisement for community management interns is very misleading. If you don't mind working for nothing (HMRC have been notified) and like sending spam to 300 people a day.. You will love this job!

Cons

WOW where do I start. Terrible management. Terrible illegal work practices Terrible company morale. No pay. The work is tedious, monotonous and soul destroying. Terrible attitude and threatening behaviour towards foreign interns. Oh yes, have I mentioned.. they don't pay and HMRC have been notified.

Pros

You get a free t shirt

Cons

Treat people like dogs. The CEO has no social skills and his side kick wife, is no better, although she can turn on the charm when required. Look at how many CFOs they have had. Doesn't that tell you something?? Generally staff turn over is high. Management did well out of sale of shares before they plummeted to almost nothing. Coincidence?? If you want to get on by sucking up and back stabbing blur is the place for you. Truly the worse place I have worked.

Pros

Initially there is quite a cool atmosphere at blur, lots of young people from around the world having an adventure, but scratch beneath the surface and the whole business itself starts to look dodgy - no matter home much the 'cool-disruptive-different' mantra is shoved down your throat, you can't help feeling something smells wrong.

Cons

Like being back at school. You get told off if you are a few minutes late, have to wear company T shirts once a week, and cannot move from your desk if investors are coming round. heaven forbid you write the word blur with a capital B! I have never been so patronised professionally in my life. There is blaring music which makes it impossible to concentrate. The office is' ruled' by a small middle management clique who constantly shout across the office to reinforce their playground status - so tiresome. I think Blur is a great place to work if you were bullied at school and haven't been able to move on, which brings us neatly on to the hallowed leader. He is charismatic, and I couldn't help but like him, but my god, what a megalomaniac. He tells you this is 'the coolest place you will ever work' period. Really ? I don't think so. OK, rant nearly over - next big thing ? No, because the staff turnover is so high, and there isn't enough raw talent. Avoid.
