Pros

The best part of working at MakeSpace is that the majority of people there are really great - kind, committed, fun, etc. The direct management is committed to professional growth. I believe in the company mission and potential so think that they'll be successful

Cons

The company is so committed to growth that they pushed acquisition beyond the capabilities of what the operations team can execute while maintaining a quality service. The drop in quality resulted in a backlash of customer's with negative experiences. Quality service comes second to growth. So being on the Customer Experience team puts you on the receiving end of the customer's (rightfully had) aggression. Overall, I feel like entry-level employee happiness isn't really a priority. It seems like there's no real sense of urgency it creating a better work experience

Pros

- Smart and kind coworkers - Fun problems that need solving - Driven and fast paced startup culture - Awesome office in FiDi (as wekk as cold-brew keg, catered lunches, and stocked kitchen)

Cons

Standard growing pains that a startup faces, but that's the fun part.

Growing Pains

Pros

- I really enjoyed the people I worked with. They tend to hire really great people. - I felt that my ideas were heard and acknowledged by my manager. - I was able to gain skills and expand my duties.

Cons

- I saw this business grow very rapidly in a very short period of time, and it suffers from those growing pains. - There was a very high turnover rate in the time I was there. If there was any contention between an employee and the CEO, they were gone the next day! - The culture of the organization is toxic and depressing. It really trickles down from the attitude of the CEO, who I found to be disrespectful, constantly anxious, and micromanaging. There is a lot of office drama and politics. - The goals of the company were so focused on growth that they didn't really care about things running smoothly on a day to day basis. We were asked to believe in a product that the founders obviously didn't care about and just want to sell as quickly as possible.
