Pros

Most of the people that work at Makino are very nice individuals and willing to help

Cons

Requires a lot of travel nationally and most of the company doesn't understand the stresses of such work. With the amount of travel and time spent away from home, the compensation is not where it needs to be (FSE's & Apps). Management and HR will not take suggestions seriously from anyone other than managers or higher ups. There are a lot of guys at the company that have been working there for many years and are very cocky/arrogant.

Pros

almost all employees are willing to help other employees. tech content is not complex. very well known machine tool company.

Cons

employees arent happy. compensation does not reflect project difficulty or personal performance. first promotion opportunity following entry level is very difficult to achieve. bonus system used to attract new employees is dubious. engineers are expected to be happy performing a trade that is undesirable for the majority of college grads.
