Disappointing & Disrespectful Culture
Pros
Working with the students and being a part of the Job Corps program changing lives. The students are the only positive to working here. If I didn't have personal experience and deep love in the Job Corps program, I would not work here.
Cons
Terrible Benefits with forced enrollment using your health and wellness dollars to cover the monthly premium of $600. Monthly company contribution to 401K is only about $50. The coverage is absolute bare minimum with super high deductibles and small provider network. To add dependents is an additional $600 a month. Sick time accrual is 1HR a week. No vacation time for one year. 16HRS Bereavement Total. Charged for meals in the cafeteria. Smoke free campus for staff, but students are allowed to smoke. No automatic time keeping or ability to clock in/out on phone. Favoritism. Retaliation. Zero Flexibility. Closed Secure Campus with frequent vehicle searches. Dozens of emails daily that do not apply to your department. Ignored supply requests. Holidays are blacked out for any PTO, even if you have the PTO Time, you aren't allowed to take off during holidays. Extra special projects and work expected always, but never appreciated/recognized/grateful. No opportunities for advancement. No yearly raises or incentives. No on site perks. Outdated machines, equipment, and supplies. Budget for recreation department is spent poorly and doesn't reflect variety, diversity, inclusion, student or staff requests, or new activities.
