I worked here for about 9 months and I will say that while working here I had to call out numerous times because of having COVID twice, the flu once, and bronchitis. Along with a family emergency. Devin Bell, one of the unit supervisors told me to come into work knowing I was flu positive. I came in wearing an N95 and was immediately sent home once I got there. The charge nurse looked at me and saw how pale and sweaty I was then took my temp. I had a 101.5 fever and a heart rate in the 140’s. I felt guilty every time I had to call out, even though I had Covid, flu, and bronchitis. My previous supervisor told me doctors notes were not acceptable. So what I have learned from working here is that if you’re sick, you’re screwed. I recently found out that I have multiple autoimmune disorders which is a very likely reason I get sick so often. I am taking the initiative to get it under control but there are some things I cannot control. I went to a different local hospital and I will say I am so much happier and the management is much better.
