Pros

Product has a massive user base and excellent customer base (as open source, private versions respectively).

Cons

Foresight of the sales senior leadership was lacking (ie. Pivoting whole sales staff to, essentially, run a marketing campaign for 1/4 of the year in order to to fill seats at yearly conference)
