Pros

Excellent compensation, experienced staff, and a positive working environment despite a changing environment.

Cons

New hospital is being built because of the need to retrofit in case of earthquake. Nurse's union has been working hard for more than one year to get a renewed contact and no progress has been made because hospital is blocking negotiations. Administrators make high salaries and come and go frequently. This is somewhat distracting for a staff RN who just wants to take care of patients.

The pay is on par with the Bay Area, that is about it...

Cons

Staff is treated like drones. There is no autonomy. The facility is bogged down in politics and there is no forward thinking or cutting edge medicine going on here. Management can be outright belligerent to staff. There is a very high staff turn over right now. I have been here for years and I never thought I would want to leave, but I find myself looking for work.

Pros

Good pay, some nice co-workers, patients are very nice, Doctors and Nurses are very professional. Nice facility. Good Cafeteria. New parking lot will be nice.

Cons

Very poor management. Lazy, mean, unprofessional co-workers, who use the system repeatedly, i.e. disability, sick days, time-off, are promoted, the ambitious co-workers resign. Favoritism, too strict of an environment. HR sides with managers, always, does not listen to employees.
