      Pros

      Nice people and, for the most part, smart people.

      Cons

      The pay is very low, promotions nearly impossible unless you are in the "in crowd." Very insulated from what is going on in the rest of the market research industry. Haven't kept up with key trends.

      Pros

      Great products and services. Talented, smart and amazing employees. Employees opinions are requested. Relaxed environment. Nice campus, which is currently in multi-satges of renovation.

      Cons

      Maritz' basic business model has not changed during the past 30 years. In this current market when selling merchandise it is difficult to compete with Amazon and eBay's pricing structure. Develop alternate revenue streams. Charge fair market value for all services.

      Pros

      Work/life balance is possible here. Campus is pleasant (no cube farms). The people are nice, midwestern folks.

      Cons

      Don't be mistaken by the slow cadence of this privately-held company in the heartland; it is NOT a paternalistic business. The fire and heart of this business evaporated long ago. A few of this company's business units have been struggling for years and are in decline. Research business is probably the healthiest of all, with more focus on delivering authentic customer value. Lack of ability to embrace/master technology to enable solutions has hurt all units.
