Pros
Work/life balance is possible here. Campus is pleasant (no cube farms). The people are nice, midwestern folks.
Cons
Don't be mistaken by the slow cadence of this privately-held company in the heartland; it is NOT a paternalistic business. The fire and heart of this business evaporated long ago. A few of this company's business units have been struggling for years and are in decline. Research business is probably the healthiest of all, with more focus on delivering authentic customer value. Lack of ability to embrace/master technology to enable solutions has hurt all units.
