Horrible Culture and Leadership

Pros

Some smart people . The health insurance is good.

Cons

The culture is awful. The CEO, Darren Jer, has massive anger management issues. He will go missing at times, then yell and scream when people don't do what he wants or if he is in a bad mood. Further he will come up with ideas on the fly expect you to implement right away even if you make a strong argument. There is also a double standard, some people can act inappropriately while others are called out for their actions publicly. The technology is old and the product is prone to lots of failures. There are a lot of band aides, but no real solutions.

Pros

- Lots of work to do so you are always learning - Start up culture

Cons

- Senior management will lowball you in the initial offer but promise to give you a 6 month review for more compensation once you prove yourself. Be careful, this review will never come unless you are super proactive about it. - Engineers are paid less than what is listed on AngelList - Sales is constantly selling products that don't exist so engineering is constantly under pressure. - Because engineering is always under pressure, there is no time to refactor code and fix technical debt - The code runs on an ancient stack. There's no desire to embrace the cloud, containers, orchestration frameworks or any modern technologies. - Senior Management creates a culture where it is acceptable to yell at and demean people. I have seen this happen on multiple occasions.
